Finding Our Hope in The Cross of Christ

The cross is the ultimate symbol of hope for all who believe. It is the place where our sins were atoned for and where our salvation was won. It is the place where Christ showed us the depths of His love and the extent to which He was willing to go to reconcile us to God.

Romans 5:8 says, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." This is the hope that we find in the cross - that even while we were still sinners, Christ died for us out of His immense love for us.

The cross also gives us hope for our future. Hebrews 12:2 says, "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Christ endured the cross for the joy set before Him - the joy of reconciling us to God and the joy of being seated at the right hand of the Father.

This is the hope that we have as we fix our eyes on Jesus. We have the hope of eternal life with Him, where there will be no more tears, no more pain, and no more suffering. We have the hope of being with Him forever in glory.

But how do we find this hope in the cross? We must first come to the cross with a heart of repentance, acknowledging our need for a Savior and recognizing the gravity of our sin. We must also come to the cross with a heart of faith, believing that Christ's sacrifice on the cross was sufficient to pay for our sins and secure our salvation.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus and find hope in the cross. Let us live our lives in the light of the hope that we have in Him, sharing His love and His grace with those around us.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
